Casey A. Karges
Executive Director

A dynamic professional, Casey has 20 years of experience in organizational leadership,  is extensively trained in basic mediation and advanced Family Mediation skills, and has more than one hundred hours of mediation experience.  Casey holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree from UNL and a Masters of Divinity Degree from St. Paul’s School of Theology.  He has served as the Director of Connectional Ministries for the United Methodist Church Nebraska Conference, the Director of Congregational Development at Waverly United Methodist Church, is a Leadership Lincoln graduate, and past president of Lincoln Urban Ministries, DayWatch Inc., and the Lincoln District of the United Methodist Church.  

 

David A. Hubbard, J.D.
Director of Facilitation and Training

David serves as the Director of Facilitation and Training at The Mediation Center.  He is an experienced attorney who, prior to joining the staff at The Mediation Center, practiced law for many years, was a business executive, as well as a private-practice mediator and facilitator.  In addition to his full-time position at the Center he serves as an adjunct undergraduate professor, adjunct faculty member at UNL College of Law, is approved as a local rule 4.3 mediator in Douglas County, and is approved as a federal mediator.  David’s mediation and facilitation skills have been refined through hundreds of hours of training through the likes of Harvard’s Program on Negotiation, Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, American Bar Association, and hundreds of mediations and facilitations.  David is a member of ASTD and an Executive Committee Member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution section of the Nebraska State Bar Association.

 

Romney Reutzel Olson, M.S.
Director of Family Mediation Services

Romney serves as the Director of Family Mediation Services at The Mediation Center.  With a Masters Degree in Family Science from UNL Romney has extensive experience in child development, child advocacy, family dynamics and domestic violence prevention and intervention.  In addition to her work experience, Romney worked for more than 20 years as a volunteer advocate, respite care provider and parent mentor with the Parent Aide Support Service, a program she helped develop and implement.  Through her work at the Center Romney provides parents and families opportunities to promote safety and care of children through mediation processes such as the Family Group Conference and Pre-Hearing facilitation in Juvenile Court.  Romney has given presentations and provided classes to professionals in the areas of community collaboration, family interaction, child development, and child and family decision making.  Romney has been on staff at the Center for six years.
